Therapeutic Storybooks About Kindness, Behaviour, Belonging and Understanding
At MindfulLink, we are excited to announce the upcoming release of The King Woody Series — a collection of therapeutic children’s storybooks created to help children and adults explore emotions, behaviour, empathy, safety and connection through gentle storytelling.
As some of you may already personally know Woody and Aggy, real life therapy dogs. These stories are inspired by the real work that they did with children. These stories are set within the warm and welcoming world of King Woody’s Farm, where behaviour is approached with curiosity, compassion and understanding rather than judgement.
The series has been thoughtfully designed for:
families,
educators,
therapists,
support workers,
and anyone supporting children’s emotional development.
Each story combines beautifully illustrated storytelling with deeper themes that encourage readers to look beyond behaviour and consider the feelings, fears and experiences that may sit underneath it.
The First Stories
The Day Luna Couldn't Make It Home
A moving story about fear, belonging and emotional safety, where King Woody helps the farm understand that frightened behaviour often has a deeper story beneath it.
Queen Aggy and the Hungry Magpies
A gentle mystery exploring kindness, displacement and community, as Woody and Aggy discover why biscuits have been disappearing from the kitchen windowsill.
More Than Just Storybooks
The King Woody Series has been developed with strong foundations in:
emotional regulation,
developmental understanding,
Positive Behaviour Support,
relational practice,
and compassionate communication.
At the end of each book, families, teachers and therapists will also find reflective guidance pages that encourage calm, thoughtful responses to behaviour and promote understanding before reaction.
Coming Soon
Printed books and therapeutic companion resources will soon be available through the MindfulLink website.
We cannot wait to share Woody’s Farm with you and hope these stories help create meaningful conversations about kindness, safety and understanding for children and the adults who support them.
Please subscribe if you would like to keep informed of their availability.
